About
CueRoom was built because the five minutes before a meeting are the most important five minutes of that meeting. And almost nobody uses them well.
The problem we kept watching
Over the last few years we noticed the same thing in ourselves and in people we worked with. Four meetings a day, four careful calendar invites, four pre-reads. And then the one meeting that would matter in a year arrives, and we walk in exactly as we were walking around before it.
Not focused. Not aligned. Not clear on what we were there for or who we needed to be. We rehearsed in the shower. We rehearsed in the car. By the time we sat down, we had already lost it.
What we tried first
Meditation apps told us to breathe. Journaling apps told us to reflect. Coaching platforms told us to book a session. None of it worked in the five minutes we actually had.
The breathing was too generic. The reflection was too backward-looking. The coaching was too slow. We needed something written for the exact meeting we were about to walk into, in the exact state we were in, that we could listen to in the elevator.
The four-state framework
When we started paying attention to how we felt before meetings, we noticed we were always in one of four modes:
Anxious. Our body was already in the room. Our words were not.
High-stakes. We knew what to say. We wanted to say it like someone who had already won.
Unprepared. The meeting arrived before we were ready. We still had to show up.
Not there yet. The room was asking for a version of us we had not practiced being.
Each of those needed a different script. A different pace. A different anchor. Breathwork for anxious. Posture for high-stakes. A quick frame for unprepared. A borrowed voice for not-there-yet. One tool, four modes.
Why AI was the right fit
The reason this product could not exist five years ago is that it needs to generate a new, specific, non-repetitive script every time. Thousands of scripts a day. In your voice. For your exact meeting. No pre-written content library can do that.
Language models can. We spent most of our time not on the model but on the framework around it: the four states, the anti-repetition memory, the sixty-second pacing, the voice selection, the four rooms. The AI is the engine. The craft is the system we wrapped around it.
What CueRoom is not
It is not therapy. It is not coaching. It is not meditation. It is not a journaling app. It will not fix patterns that need a therapist. It will not replace a good career coach. It will not calm a panic attack.
It is a sixty-second alignment tool for the moment before you walk into a room where the version of you matters. That is a narrow thing. We decided to do that one thing well instead of ten things badly.
Our principles
- Specificity beats generality. A generic affirmation is noise. A sentence about your 3pm meeting is signal.
- Sixty seconds is the magic length. Long enough to reset. Short enough to listen to walking from the elevator to the boardroom.
- No wellness slop. No "you are enough." No "trust the universe." No vision boards. If you want that, there are a hundred other apps.
- Privacy is a feature, not a disclosure. We never sell data. We never train on your scripts. We delete when you ask.
- Craft the system, not the output. The output is new every time. The system is what we polish.
Where we are
CueRoom is in beta on iOS. We are a small team. We ship weekly. We read every email at hello@cueroom.io. If you have a meeting coming up this week that matters, this app was built for you.
